Sandlot Minor League Program
We don't want to see young athletes stray away from the game they love. We want to embrace that ball player and improve the skills allowing them to enjoy the game they love, and help them make that team they so desire to be on. The Sandlot Academy of WNY strives to improve the level of play in WNY, one athlete at a time. Our goal is to help players develop which will only help to improve their leagues and bringing them to a higher level of competition. At the same point developing athletes that might not continue to play after a certain age or level.
Not everyone will make or play Travel or Tournament Ball, and just because you don't make the team, we don't want you to give up on the game. Most athletes that don't make Travel or Tournament teams usually do not continue to play on to the next levels for one reason or another, whether the disappointment in being cut or loss of interest playing house-league. Yet, look at pro athletes, and even college athletes, not all of them made every team they ever tried out for. They persevered and continued pushing forward to improve for that next try out, or the next one.
That's why Sandlot is partnering up with local baseball organizations by forming The Sandlot Minor League Program. This is a year-long program set up for those young athletes that tried out for the summer travel team but didn't make the cut. Instead of being down on yourself for not making the team, don't give up, our program will help develop your skills, keep you playing ball, and make you better for next year's tryout.
Here's your opportunity to improve your baseball skills with the Sandlot and get ready for next year's tryouts. Come and train with us on a weekly basis improving your skills with private one-on-one training, group / team training, scrimmages and inter-league games.
Members of the Sandlot ML Program will have full access to the Sandlot and its staff on a regular basis, with one focus, to improve your skills and maintain that passion for the game and desire to be the best they can be. They will go through the Sandlot Training program working on all aspects of the game. You will play travel ball in a non-competitive status in several leagues during the regular season and then play competitively during the fall in our fall league.
In order to be on the Sandlot Minor League Program:
You must:
…try out for your tournament team…be a current member in your league
be eligible for 12u , 13u, or 14u under Little League Rules
…and must love baseball
The Sandlot ML System will be coordinated in conjunction with respective league organizations and comprised of players from those leagues.
